Pictures of a Eurasian Green-winged Teal near Belleville in Mifflin County on 3/3/2004 at 7:30 AM. It was discovered by J. Irvin Zook on his farm on Friday, 2/27/2004. The Teal was about 150 feet away from the scope that I used to take the pictures. The scope is a Swarovski ST80HD with a 20-60x zoom lens and the pictures were taken at 60x by holding a compact digital Minolta Dimage X up to the lens. Cloud cover was 100%, temperature 40F, and slightly windy.

The bird in the foreground is the apparent mate. A distinguishing id mark is hard to see. If you drag the image onto a graphic program icon (like Preview or GraphicConverter for the Mac), you should see a hint of green in the speculum area.
