2011 Fall Calendar for meetings and field trips
Further details of all 2011 field trips will be posted to the State
College Bird Club listserv group.
Unless otherwise noted, all regular meetings will
be held at 7:00 p.m. in the Meeting Room in the Community Building in
the Foxdale
Village Retirement Community.
Regular Meetings:

Program: Our guest speaker will be Alex Lamoreaux and he will
give a program on South Africa birding.
October 26, 2011 (Wednesday)
Regular Meeting
7:00 p.m. Foxdale Village Meeting Room
Program: Our guest speaker will be Margaret Brittingham who will give a
program on the effects of Marcellus Shale exploration and development
on birds.
November 16, 2011 (Wednesday)
Regular Meeting
7:00 p.m. Foxdale Village Meeting Room Program: Our guest speaker will
be Mark Henry who will give a program on his birding trip to Panama.
December 14, 2011 (Wednesday)
7:00 p.m. Foxdale Village Meeting Room Program: Our guest
speaker will be Fran Maceachren who will give a program on her birding
trip to Chile.

Greg Grove will lead a trip to Scotia Barrens to look for fall warblers and other migrants.
September 17, 2011 (Saturday)
Deb Grim will lead a hawk watching trip to Jack's Mountain. Carpoolers and others depart frrm the Military Museum parking
lot in Boalsburg at 9am and return about 3PM.

Millbrook Marsh: late migrants and early northern winter

November 6, 2011 (Sunday)
Bob Snyder will lead a trip to Bald Eagle State Park to look for migrating waterfowl, hawks, Bald Eagles.

Local Hawk Watches:
The Fall Hawk migration is in full swing from September thru
December. Visit the State College Bird Club website to find a
listing of the local hawk watches. Weather conditions for
potential good hawk flights will be listed on the SCBC e-mail list
serve.
